Custom 3D Printers Project

Custom 3D Printers Project

A couple of our club members are knowledgeable in the design of 3D printers and are surfing through the inter-webs to find great deals on printer parts to build our own custom delta 3D printers that will be used in the DML(ditital media lab) at the UCSD Geisel library. We expect to have great reliability and performance for a fraction of the cost(~$500) of a brand name hobbyist printer(~$2000). We will be assembling and testing them ourselves so we can guarantee performance. After they are built, we will be volunteering at the lab to help maintain the printers. We are excited to utilize our expertise to help students all over campus realize their models in real life after spending tedious amounts of time designing parts.

If you are interested in being a part of this project or would like us to send you our bill of materials for this project, email me at lpbbockman+03@gmail.com

Currently we are waiting to finalize funding for the project so we can build the printers.
